SUSTAINABILITY

RECYCLED FABRICS

Our products are made from 2 fabrics derived from either ECONYL® regenerated nylon, or recycled REPREVE® yarn. ECONYL® yarn is sourced from recovering nylon from waste that would otherwise pollute the Earth such as fishing and ghost nets, old carpets, fabric scraps, and industrial pre-consumer plastic waste. These raw materials are collected worldwide from the ocean by initiatives such as the Healthy Seas Foundation, fish farms, factories and special take back projects, to name a few, and, through a chemical process, transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. REPREVE® yarn is regenerated polyester that comes from recycled plastic bottles. Either nylon or polyester is extracted from these waste materials and turned into yarn which is then woven into rolls of fabric. Our prints are all designed in house and printed on ECONYL® yarn and REPREVE® yarn derived fabric using eco-friendly dyes

THE ECONYL® PROCESS

  1. RESCUE: The ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with rescuing waste, like fishing nets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring, and industrial plastic waste from around the world. This waste is then sorted and cleaned to recover all the nylon possible.

  2. REGENERATE: Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the nylon waste is recycled right back to its original purity. That means ECONYL® regenerated nylon is exactly the same as virgin nylon.

  3. REMAKE: ECONYL® regenerated nylon is processed into yarns and polymers for the fashion and interior industries.

  4. REIMAGINE: The beauty of ECONYL® regenerated nylon is that it has the potential to be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality.

THE REPREVE® PROCESS

  1. SOURCE RECYCLED WASTE: Recycled plastic bottles and post-industrial waste are collected worldwide.

  2. MAKE THE CHIP: Waste material is chopped, ground, washed, melted and reformulated into high-quality REPREVE® chips.

  3. FORM THE FIBRE: Chips are then melted into a liquid polymer and extruded through tiny openings in a spinneret, creating continuous filaments that form REPREVE® fibre.

  4. PROCESS THE YARN: Fibre becomes yarn through spinning and air-jet texturing.

  5. YARN TO FABRIC: Finished yarn goes into fabrics, making everyday products more sustainable.

RECYCLED ACCESSORIES

Our brand tags are made from recycled paper, our care labels from recycled polyester & satin, our biodegradable hygiene liners, shipping labels & other stickers are made from wood pulp, and our mailer bags are biodegradable and compostable. We use absolutely no plastic in our packaging and use as little material as we can.

OFFSETTING CARBON EMISSIONS

A tree is planted for every product we sell and we aim to plant enough trees to achieve a carbon negative status by the end of each year we operate. We partner with Tree-Nation to plant 4 different species of trees across 2 reforestation projects: The Eden projects in Madagascar, and the Usambara Biodiversity Conservation programme based in Tanzania. You will receive a planting certificate and further details from Tree-Nation following your purchase.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page, you will see a smart label in the bottom left-hand corner of our footer. This tracks our website emissions, and automatically plants trees to make our website CO2 neutral!

NON-PROFIT DONATION

We donate 1% of our profits to various non-profit environmental organisations and aim to change our chosen organisation every year in order to raise awareness for as wide a range of charities as possible. This year we are donating to The Ocean Cleanup, who are developing advanced technologies to rid our oceans of plastic.
